Thomas Peter Frank, fondly known as Pete, Peter and Uncle Pete was born on June 18, 1941, in Chicago, IL to John and Ruth Frank.  He passed away on November 17, 2023 in Chicago.

While still a boy at Mayfair Park Elementary, Pete got into a scuffle that turned into a lifelong friendship with Billy (Barbara).

In high school, Pete played on Lane Technical Highschool football team.  Until just recently Pete would still get animated when Dick Butkus name came up on T.V., saying how his biggest regret was not hitting Dick Butkus on the football field when he played on Lane’s rival team.

Pete met Linda at his brother Bob’s going away party after joining the Marines.  The two soon became inseparable

and married shortly after high school.

In his career, Pete worked for Schawks Graphics. It was there he met another lifelong friend Ron (Marilyn).  Pete joined Ron on becoming a mason and a life long member of Pleiades Lodge 478 A.F. & A.M.

Besides Chicago, Pete and Linda spent much of their lives living on the farm in Readstown, Wisc.  It was there they met Dennis and Judy who became close friends for over 30 years.

Pete and Linda were blessed to have these wonderful friends and their families in their lives, just as blessed as Pete is to have all of you.

From delivering a dozen Amish eggs or a pound of Wisconsin butter to the folks in Chicago, offering a ride to the airport, taking a friend to their doctor’s appointment, picking up a niece/nephew from school, or planting trees at the North Park Nature Center alongside his brother John, Pete thrived on doing for others.

With a great sense humor and wit, it was not easy to decipher when Pete was being serious or pulling one’s leg. Often it was only the twinkle in his eye that gave his prank away.

Pete enjoyed spending time putting puzzles together, doing crosswords, playing cards, laughing with friends, volunteering, tractor pull, traveling, shooting off the canon, and sitting by the fire.  More than all of these, he relished being a part of his nieces and nephews’ everyday lives.

From cheering his nieces and nephews on during a game, hearing them sing at church, taking them to eat at his favorite restaurants, going to birthday parties and graduations, teaching them to drive, and teasing them in good fun, Pete loved being an uncle.  It is no wonder that after moving back to Chicago he soon became known to everybody as Uncle Pete.

Pete is survived by his brother John (Karen), many nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.  He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and the love of his life, Linda Lou, as well as his brothers Robert (Maragret) and David (Marty).

Thomas Peter Frank will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing him.  His kindness, humor, and dedication to helping others will forever be remembered.  May he rest in peace.
